The cycle in numbers

Every semester, a city moves out and moves in.

Maastricht takes in the second-largest group of new international degree students in the Netherlands. Many of them land in an empty room, while the students who leave throw out furniture that still works.

How it works

A relay, not a bin bag.

One service for both ends of your stay. Outgoing students hand their things over, incoming students start with a ready room, and nothing waits on the curb.

Step 1 · Leaving

Book a pickup

Send us your items and your move-out date. Pickup is free when you book two months ahead.

Step 2 · LuckyDorm

We check and store

Every item is checked for condition, cleaned and held in our Maastricht storage.

Step 3 · Arriving

Delivered to your room

Order before you arrive. We bring it to your room in your first week in the city.

Step 4 · Leaving

The seller gets paid

Once the item sells, the student who handed it over gets their share: 60% of the resale price.

Arrive as a buyer, leave as a seller. When your studies end, we collect the same bed and pay you a share when the next student buys it.

For arriving students

The full service at a student price.

Renting gives you nothing back when you leave, and buying new costs twice as much once delivery and assembly are added. Take one bed as an example, compared by how long you stay.

Example: a bed for your stay

Choose your stay. LuckyDorm is a one-time price, and you get a share back when you leave.

One academic year, the most common stay for degree students.

Rental prices from a Dutch student furniture rental shop, new prices from a large flat-pack retailer, both collected 28 Sep 2026. Rentals under 6 months add a delivery fee.

Why now

Used furniture is becoming regulated reuse.

The Netherlands is moving furniture and mattresses out of the waste stream. Every bed we pass on stays out of the incinerator.
